Research
GFN-SSR researchers are available to carry out desk-based research assignments at short notice. Obviously, queries must be related to security sector reform. A researcher will produce a clear and concise report outlining the main issues on the subject, identifying the most relevant literature and where appropriate, gathering comments from expert academics and practitioners. A response will be sent back to you in two working days.
For questions that require more in-depth research, we can also undertake extended assignments according to your specification.
In research, we work closely with our sister project, the Governance and Social Development Resource Centre (GSDRC), which is also based within the University of Birmingham's International Development Department.
For information and resources on governance and social development issues specifically, please visit the GSDRC website.
Those with access will also be able to view our restricted library of previous research queries.

GFN-SSR has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with DCAF. This is supported by an annual workplan outlining particular activities for cooperation and areas for information exchange.
GFN-SSR works closely with our sister project, the GSDRC, which specialises in information and resources on specific governance and social development issues.
